Things are going well for Sinéad O’Connor. Life to this point - she is now 53 - has been something of a rollercoaster and could provide enough material for at least four films. But nowadays, all is well. She has always been a singer and performer who can't be pigeonholed, which was amply demonstrated last year, when she made a comeback of sorts on Irish television's Late Late Show, following a turbulent period in her life. Wearing a bright red hijab, she gave a truly heartrending performance of ‘Nothing Compares 2 U’, the Prince song that brought her world fame in 1990. With 100 million listens on Spotify, this is by far her best-known work. But of course, O’Connor is also known for ‘Mandinka’, ‘Troy’, ‘The Emperor’s New Clothes’ and that brilliant performance of Nirvana's ‘All Apologies’. She can’t wait to storm onto the Werchter stage again. We look forward to seeing her there.
