Skunk Anansie is one of the era-defining acts of the ‘90s. Altogether, the band’s first three albums spent 150 weeks in the British charts between 1995 and 1999. A lot of this was down to their singer, Skin. This bald, black, bisexual lady has magnetic powers. She was born radical and frequently courts controversy with her views on a whole range of social themes. Above all though, she has a phenomenal voice and is a natural on stage. Skunk Anansie celebrate their 25th anniversary fittingly with ‘25Live@25’ (2019). The live performances of classics like ‘Weak’, ‘Hedonism’, ‘I Can Dream’ and ‘Charlie Big Potato’ have been selected from various performances but feel like a single concert. This speaks volumes for the tumultuous energy and sound that Skunk Anansie produce. Performing at Werchter is a must during this anniversary year. The group has played here five times between 1996 and 2016.
